Vendor FAQs
How is the fair laid out?
This is a long laborious operation that starts months before the fest. We try to put some distance between competing vendors or those with similar products. With some vendors we try to group them together. We always try to take into account special requests, like wanting two booths next to one another.
Who is the festival committee?
The festival committee and in particular the vendor committee, is made up of dedicated volunteers.
What about electricity?
The fest does not provide any generators or electricity.
How do I know if I have been accepted into the fair?
You will be contacted via email, or phone with the computer isn’t your thing.
What kind of payments are accepted?
Upon acceptance you will be sent a link to our pay-pal account which will enable you to conveniently pay on-line. However, if that doesn’t work for you, you can mail a check. Again the address will be provided to you at the time of acceptance.
We are a non-profit, do we get a non-profit discount?
Sorry, but no. We are a small festival with limited space. The music fest itself is a non-profit and we try to give to as many local charities as we can.
Do I need a tax license?
Yes, yes and yes!
Why do I need a tax license?
Licenses are REQUIRED by the city of Denver and the state of Colorado. SMF is required to provide names, addresses, and food vendor license numbers of all vendors before the fest. As a vendor, you will be required to collect tax on all purchases, and remit those taxes to the government within 30 days of the event.
How do I get a tax license?
You can download tax license forms by following this link: http://www.colorado.gov/oed/industry-license/158IndDetail.html
Which tax license do I need?
This information can be found at the web site listed above. Basically, if you are only doing one festival or fair this year, get a one-time special events license. If you are doing two or more fairs, get the multiple events license. If you have a regular place of business, the tax license you have for that business will cover the festival, as well.
